Minister of State, Mines and Steel, Gbemi has revealed reason she’s supporting the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Kwara state, Shuaib Yaman.
Saraki while addressing her supporters said the reason for her support is the revival of her father’s crumbled dynasty.
In 2021, the state government demolished Ile Arugbo which serves as the headquarters of the dynasty in the state for an overriding public interest.
This demolition irked Gbemi Saraki to no end and she was determined to send the government packing and make sure Abdulrazaq didn’t emerge for a second term.
Saraki while addressing her supporters said “my agenda is that, the Saraki dynasty mustn’t crumble.
“I am willing to make sure that the dynasty is resuscitated.
“Don’t mind what happened during the Presidential elections, it’s normal for it to happen and don’t make it seem it’s the party’s strength.
In a bid to strengthen her bid, Saraki is now using her access to government as a negotiating point.
Recently, Comrade Basambo Abubakar, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Kwara State stepped down for his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Shuaib Abdullahi Yaman.
He said his decision was to form a stronger alliance with the PDP and wrest power from the APC administration.
Abubakar, a former aide to former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, had said that the union was expected to birth a collective dream for a prosperous Kwara State.
Investigation eventually showed that Gbemi Saraki promised to give the candidate a mining license in exchange of the defection and support for her candidate.
The Minister is presently coordinating the PDP Governorship Campaign operation in Kwara with the support of her brother the Former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Alot of PDP members have also been given federal government jobs while cash transfer to party loyalist is presently ongoing courtesy of the Minister of State, Mines and Steel.
Gbemisola Saraki also disclosed that she has since settled all rift with her brother and are both working towards the rival of their father’s dynasty on Saturday.
